MVS Records and Awards
Registered Missouri Valley swimmers achieving outstanding swimming times and academic achievement are recognized both by United
States Swimming and Missouri Valley Swimming.
Citizen Records
Missouri Valley "Citizen" Records are those made by MVS registered swimmers in any USA Swimming or
FINA sanctioned meet. A "Citizen" Record is the fastest actual swim achieved by an MVS swimmer, regardless of where the pool is
located. To be eligible for this award, swimmers in the 10 & Under and 11-12 age groups must achieve a National "A" time
(as established by the USS National Age Group Time Standards). Swimmers in the 13-14, 15-16, and 17-18 age groups must achieve a National "AA" time to be eligible.
District Records
Missouri Valley "District Records" are those made by any swimmer in a meet held within the
Missouri Valley district. A District Record is the fastest actual swim achieved in a pool located within the geographic boundaries of
MVS, regardless of whether the swimmer is a member of Missouri Valley Swimming. To be eligible for this award, swimmers in the 10 & Under
and 11-12 age groups must achieve a National "A" time (as established by the USS National Age Group Time Standards). Swimmers
in the 13-14, 15-16, and 17-18 age groups must achieve a National "AA" time to be eligible.
